Ruthie & Josiah’s Outdoor Wedding at Camp Aramoni
Timeless, Rustic and Unforgettable
Camp Aramoni, a new event venue and boutique campground near Starved Rock State Park, hosts many outdoor weddings. Set on 96 beautiful acres along the Vermilion River, Camp Aramoni is a bespoke setting perfect for couples of all backgrounds. Our event venue, Bricks & Stones, is also the only wedding venue in the Midwest located on a former brickyard. Originally used as a blacksmith shop, the historic building was constructed in 1870 and recently underwent extensive renovations before transforming into a unique gathering space with history and integrity. With 150 years of history preserved here, Bricks & Stones tells a story that we invite our couples to join.
An Outdoor Wedding in July
Ruthie and Josiah decided to tie the knot at Camp Aramoni on July 2, 2021. Camp Aramoni was the perfect venue to bring to life their vision of a rustic, outdoor wedding filled with bright florals and natural beauty. After spending many months planning the big day, the couple was blessed with great weather and an unforgettable ceremony. During cocktail hour, they even decided to serve an ice cream bar so guests could cool off.
Handmade Details
Ruthie’s father designed and built a handmade round arch for the couple’s outdoor wedding ceremony. The arch featured various bright wildflowers that framed Ruthie and Josiah during their ceremony set in front of a historic, dilapidated brick kiln. The couple graciously shared the arch with us, and it is now available for all couples to rent from Camp Aramoni for an upgraded fee.
A Unique Send Off
After an enjoying an exceptional buffet service, the newlyweds cut into their gorgeous white cake with floral fondant accents that tasted even better than it looked. The crowd then moved to the outdoor pavilion for dancing. At the end of the night as the stars twinkled overhead, everyone lined up for an unforgettable glowstick sendoff for the couple.
